2011 Jake The Snake - Impressions

The whole Jake platform received a facelift this year.  New 105 group with an Ultegra rear derailleur.  R500 wheels with matching decals.  The 53cm frame that is built up right now weighs a shade under 20lbs without pedals.  Bone stock.  No modifications.  This bike could be built up CRAZY light.
Notice the new tapered headtube design.  Full carbon fork for this season.  Looks pretty awesome to me.  You can see the changes to the 105 levers as well.  The pivot was moved and the hood shape is reminiscent of the former Dura Ace body.
An oversized seatpost, shorter chainstays and a BB30 bottom bracket round out the frame, and I must say, it rides really really well.  53cm isn't my size but I noticed an immediate difference in response vs. my 2009 Jake the Snake.  Stop in and check this bike out.   MSRP $1599.
